How to get to Kensington Palace by bus, taxi, underground and car, plus general parking information

By London Underground

Nearest stations: Use District or Circle lines to High Street Kensington (within 10 minutes walking time)
Use Central Line to Queensway (within 5 minutes walking time) or Notting Hill Gate (within 15 minutes walking time).

By bus

Bus routes: 27, 70, 94, 148, 390 to Bayswater Road or 9,10, 49, 52, 70, and 452 to Kensington High Street.

By taxi

Visitors arriving by taxi may drop off at the Queen’s Entrance which is accessed from the Bayswater Road via the Orme Square Gate.

By car

The Palace is in the Congestion Charging Zone.

Parking near the Palace

There is no parking available at Kensington Palace  There is an NCP Car Park located on the Bayswater Road by the Orme Square Gate. This is a ten minute walk to the Palace. There is also an NCP car park situated under the Royal Garden Hotel.

By coach

Coach drop off and collection is available at Kensington Palace on request only. Please call the Control Office on 0203 166 6199 for further information. There is a coach park located on the Bayswater Road by the Orme Square Gate Entrance.

By bicycle

No cycling is permitted within Kensington Palace Gardens. However bicycles may be chained to the railings on the park side outside the Orangery, at the owner’s risk.

Your homeward journey

Please note that after 4.00pm  (during winter months) and 5.00pm (during summer months)  the only exit from Kensington Gardens is via Orme Square Gate which is on the north side of the park leading onto the Bayswater Road. We strongly recommend that our visitors use the road from the palace to this exit after dark as it is well lit. From the Bayswater Road you may continue your onward journey by bus, or by tube at Notting Hill Gate or Bayswater.
