A little history of the space…
The Public Dining Room was originally planned as a music or dancing room but was used by George II and Queen Caroline when they dined in the presence of the court.
The impressive marble chimney piece was carved by Grinling Gibbons, whose wood and marble carving work is evident throughout the palace.
