The Embroiderers' Guild is the UK's leading independent educational charity promoting embroidery

From their centre in Hampton Court Palace the Embroiderers' Guild works to celebrate and preserve embroidery's rich heritage and secure its future as a contemporary craft.

Their activities and events for all ages (from absolute beginners to professionals, children to adults) are great opportunities to enjoy stitching and discover the history and traditions of this ancient and international craft.

The Embroiderers' Guild Museum Collections

This is a unique single subject collection of historical, contemporary and world embroidery dating from the Coptic period to contemporary times. It includes costume, furnishings, ceremonial and domestic items representing embroidery practice and use from diverse cultures.

You can see and enjoy items from the Collections at the EG centre in Hampton Court Palace. Collections Study Sessions are free and offer individual untutored opportunities for you to look closely at items specifically selected to support your particular area of study or interest.
