What does my admission ticket cover?
There are separate 'Maze-only' and 'Gardens-only' tickets, but a 'Palace, Maze & Gardens' ticket covers all areas of the palace, open normally. There is no Palace-only ticket. There are dozens of famous and exciting sights at Hampton Court Palace and access to the majority of these is included in your 'Palace, Maze & Gardens' admission ticket. Does my ticket include the Tudor Kitchens? When can I see the Tudor cookery?
Yes. Your Palace, Maze & Gardens ticket admission includes a visit to the Tudor kitchens. Live Tudor cookery demonstrations usually take place in the Tudor kitchens on the first weekend of every month. Click here for dates and more information.
How do I find out what will be on when I visit?
There are various exhibitions, activities, displays and events happening at the palace throughout the year. Many are included in the price of your ticket. How can I book admission tickets?

Can I book tickets in advance using my Tesco deal tokens/ATOC 2 for 1 offers?
Tesco Club Card point collectors should exchange their Tesco Club Card Vouchers for Days Out Tokens / Clubcard Deals Tokens via the Tesco website. These can then be used for admission tickets purchased in person at the palace ticket office. They can be used for payment or part payment of non-discounted tickets only - so adult, child or concession tickets but not the family ticket. ATOC vouchers and tickets need to be presented at the ticket desk to claim the discount.

I’ve lost something at the palace – what do I do?
If you lose something during your visit please contact the nearest member of staff. All lost property is held by the Pass Office. Visitors may contact the Pass Office after their visit by telephoning 0844 482 7777 and going through the selections until they reach lost property. Can I buy food and drink at Hampton Court Palace?
Yes. There are various restaurants and cafés at the palace offering a wide range of refreshments, snacks and meals. Click here for more information.
Can we have a picnic at the palace?
Yes. You can have a picnic at Hampton Court Palace. Bring along your own picnic, or pick up a wide range of take away sandwiches and food from our cafes. Please note food and drink are not permitted within the confines of the buildings.

Can I take photographs?
Photography (including with a tripod as long as it doesn’t restrict the access of other visitors) and videoing is welcomed within the courtyards of the palace, the gardens and the Tudor Kitchens, but is not permitted elsewhere inside the building to protect crown copyright. Images of the palace are available for sale from our Photographic Library. Click here to contact the Photographic Library. Can I use my mobile phone inside the palace?
The use of mobile telephones is prohibited within the confines of the buildings.
Is there anywhere I can leave my heavy bags?
Hampton Court Palace does not have any left luggage facilities available. However large bags or suitcases may be left at your own risk in the Warders Office by the West Gate. Please speak to the Warders when you present your ticket if you would like to use this facility. This facility may be withdrawn without notice.
Is there anywhere to change my baby?
There are baby-changing facilities in the both the male and female toilets located off Base Court and near the shop. The female toilet includes a Mother & Baby Room which contains bottle warmers and some comfy chairs. Baby-changing facilities are also available in the female toilet in the Tiltyard Cafe.
Where can I leave my pushchair?
Pushchairs or buggies may be taken around the palace. Please speak to a warder if you wish to use the lift that we have for anyone unable to manage the stairs. A buggy park is available at the West Gate entrance if you don’t want to take the buggy around with you. All items are left at owners’ risk.
What can children and family groups do at the palace?
We have a number of activities and tours available that will entertain family groups:
- Under 5’s - The Family Room beside the Information Centre off Clock Court has soft play equipment for those who need to let off a bit of steam. There is a similar children’s play area in the Tiltyard Café (not available during school holidays). We also have a variety of Family Trails available from the Information Centre for young children to do as they go around the palace.
- 5-11 year olds - Not all the Family Trails are for little ones. We also have some for older students that will enhance their knowledge of the Tudor period. Four family Audio tours are also available. Aimed at the over 6’s, they present the palace in a light-hearted way. During school holidays, we also have costume guided events and craft activities that are aimed at primary school aged children. See the Daily programme for details. - All ages - Our regular, scheduled, costume guided tours are aimed at all ages. See the Daily programme for tour details and times. Can I bring my dog with me?
Only service, assistance or guide dogs are allowed inside Hampton Court Palace, in the Maze and in the formal gardens. Please note that there are no facilities for dogs to be left while their owners visit the palace. However, you are very welcome to walk your dog in those areas of the palace gardens that do not require an entrance ticket, and in Home Park. Please keep your dog on a lead, stick to the paths and remove any dog litter.
Are members of the armed forces entitled to free entry?
Historic Royal Palaces is a registered charity and we are unable to offer free admission. We do have a discounted entry price to Hampton Court Palace for serving members of the armed forces, on production of a valid military ID card on the day of your visit. The discount applies only to the card holder, not to other family members.

I’m holding a fundraising event – can I get free tickets?
As Historic Royal Palaces is a charity, we receive no funding from the Government or the Crown, so we depend on the support of our visitors, members, donors, volunteers and sponsors. We are unable to support other fundraising activities with complimentary tickets.
